Usually it is possible to personalize Software – you can choose the standard font in Microsoft Word or select how often you receive a Newsletter for example. The same principle applies to other programs used by big companies. Depending on product and client, the system can be configured, so that some automatic controls are applies, or the agent has to follow a predefined procedure. These settings or parameters are in the focus of my second mission.
For extensive systems used by insurance companies there are tons of configuration options and these options are permanently increased. In the software development cycle respectively the development of these parameters the documentation of the new functionalities are not in the center of attention (a widespread issue in software development). One result can be that users don’t know what functionalities can be configured, or, in the worst case, do a misconfiguration. Within my assignment I will contribute to the improvement of the existing documentation.
