Bordeaux

Bordeaux cannot be explored by foot. Bordeaux must be explored by taste.

Under the leadership of Alain Juppé, who is the mayor of the city since 12 years, Bordeaux became the second capital city of France. This does not only attract French people – for sure: Bordeaux is an international hub. The dynamic mix of cultures leverages the start-up and creative scene. And it’s nearly impossible to see who is tourist and who is local. This is highly visible in the restaurant-culture. You will find restaurants from all over the world: Japanese next to Senegalese, French Bistro next to Kebab-Stall, Chinese next to Mexican. I even got a Cambodian Lok Lak here 🙂 And of course they serve an outstanding wine.

I am lucky to have two private Tourguides. Quentin and Sarah lead me to the popular wine area around Saint Émilion and afterwards to a cultural center in Bordeaux city, which was developed from neglected factory terrain to an ecological center for and by young free spirits in a local grass-roots community. A perfect place for nomads like me.
