Of course I did it 😀
Canyoning means to walk, slide and climb down following a river in a canyon. You can get a general impression with a google picture search.
Our trip started with a wild rodeo drive in a jeep – our driver pushed the pedal through and jumped over the road holes. I think, this journey with 10 People in a 5-people car was the warm-up for our adventure. 🙂
Afterwards we squeezed ourselves in thick neoprene suits and started with a 30-minutes hike to get to our entry point. We received a short introduction from our guide Branko and off we went.
The slippery stones in the riverbed downed all of us and we landed on our butts. But after a few steps we got a feeling how to move and place our steps. Quickly we arrived at the first ‘slide’ – so feet up and enjoy.
There were also two jumps included, which were quite a thing – I am not a huge fan of heights, so this was the biggest challenge for me. Branko even put a Zip-Line for us, and at one point we had to abseil ourselves a few meters.
After two and a half hours in the ice-cold water we reached our exit exhausted and hungry. Back at the camp we enjoyed a well-deserved delicious gourmet-dish 😀
