Cape Agulhas and Roadtrip to Jefferys Bay

Cape Agulhas is the southernmost tip of the African continent. And windy. Very windy 🙂 Apparently, I’ve got an extraordinary phase because I’m blown out of my shoes every day.

At the Cape the warm Indian Ocean meets the cold Atlantic Ocean. This mix is great for the sea creatures – therefore many species can be found in this area.

The pleasant climate also attracts many birds in the area. Unfortunately I am not too much familiar with birds – please let me know if you can identify one of them 🙂

Video: Cackling from uhm, yes – no clue 🙂

The drive from Cape Agulhas to Jefferys Bay with stopover in “Plett” was great and it has amazing variations. At the beginning everything is red and brown – for miles you can see only a few trees and bushes and the road runs almost straight up and down the hills.

The further you go towards the Garden Route (the area between Mossel Bay and Port Elizabeth was named after the Garden of Eden), the greener the landscape becomes. And you move straight through the Tsitsikamma National Park, which is a tourist magnet with its impressive cliffs and hiking trails.
