Jazz and Joy

Worms – a boring German small town with a funny name, which is conservative and people without sense of humour. Do you have this picture in mind?

Except for “German small town” absolutely nothing is correct. The Wormser people are a party-people, having a good mood, incredibly charming and also organize the annual jazz festival “Jazz and Joy”. The sidewalk cafes invite you to stroll, the green areas are lovingly cared about and on the weekend there’s brunch on the marketplace with wine from the area. (By the way, there are no small glasses of wine  🙂 )

This year, the local cathedral celebrates its 1000th anniversary. Therefore it is especially spruced up. So, if you are near Worms, a visit is warmly recommended!

The best thing about Worms, however, is the reunion with Katharina. Together we visit the Jazz and Joy Festival. Special highlight this year: Sarah Connor with her soulful album “Muttersprache”. Her performance made us cry and then jump around. Finally it made us even a bit “schunkeln” – in short: it was amazing.

There are a lot of other exciting artists. Saturday evening we conclude with “Les fils de teuhpu”, a Gipsy Jazz band from France. The boys completely let down their pants on their performance – literally 😀
