On the sea

What a ride. The yellow stone islands are passing by. Some tiny riffs are showing just 10 cm above the water line – that could be dangerous when driving during the night. You would have no chance to see them and once you do, it’s already too late. But as there is bright sunshine we are just carefully driving around with some security distance. The middle Dalmatian area presents its amazing landscape. The sea is flat, the wind is in our back and there are only few other ships out there. We started from Zirje shortly before 10 o’clock. And just 15 minutes after we are on what comes close to „open sea“ (if we can say that about the dalmatic outer belt of islands). The blue sea reaches out until the horizon.

Suddenly some movement around us. „Remove speed“, my mother says. While slowing down I can see it too: Dolphins are playing nearby. We can see their fins, they usually swim in pairs. They have a clear direction: away from us, heading south. We watch them until they are out of sight. Then back on our track. Today we want to go to the island of Zut. A bay called Hiljaca has proven calm and beautiful in previous visits – we will stay over for tonight and maybe another day. Gradually we have to think about our route back to Biograd, where I will leave my parents and the boat and continue with the car. But right now we enjoy the stunning atmosphere surrounded by small islands.

You can try to taste the feeling with our self-created Cocktail „Coco Passion“.
